三角関数の計算（90°－θ）

三角関数の基本的な計算式である

$3$\displaystyle{ \{\begin{array}{lll}\sin $ 90^\circ - {\theta} $ =\cos {\theta}& \vspace{6}\\ \cos $ 90^\circ - {\theta} $ =\sin {\theta}& \vspace{6}\\ \end{array} }$ ･････(1)

を解りやすい図を用いて説明する．

対角線の長さが1の長方形ACBDを考える．対角線 $3$\displaystyle{\text{AB}=1}$ である． $3$\displaystyle{\angle \text{BAC}={\alpha}}$ ， $3$\displaystyle{\angle \text{BAD}={\beta}}$ とすると，各辺の長さは，下の図のようになる．

図より，

$3$\displaystyle{ \{\begin{array}{lll}\sin {\alpha}=\cos {\beta}& \vspace{6}\\ \cos {\alpha}=\sin {\beta}& \vspace{6}\\ \end{array} }$

である． $3$\displaystyle{{\beta}=90^\circ - {\alpha}}$ であるので，(1)が得られる．下の図も参考のこと．
