一般項の推測

次の数列の一般項 $3$\displaystyle{\hspace{1}{a}_{n}}$ を推測せよ．

$3$\displaystyle{ 1,- 1,\text{\hspace{1} }1,- 1,\text{\hspace{1} }1,\cdot \cdot \cdot }$

$3$\displaystyle{\hspace{1}{a}_{n}={ $ - 1 $ }^{ n- 1 }}$

$3$\hspace{1}{a}_{n}=\hspace{1}{a}_{1}{r}^{ n- 1 }$

の関係を用いる．

与えられた数列は，初項が１で，各項の－1倍がその次の項となっている．

よって，初項 $3$\displaystyle{\hspace{1}{a}_{1}=1}$ ，公比 $3$\displaystyle{r=- 1}$ であるから，等比数列の一般項の公式

$3$\hspace{1}{a}_{n}=\hspace{1}{a}_{1}{r}^{ n- 1 }$

$3$\displaystyle{ \hspace{1}{a}_{n} }$ $3$\displaystyle{ =1\times { $ - 1 $ }^{ n- 1 } }$ $3$\displaystyle{ ={ $ - 1 $ }^{ n- 1 } }$
